Document Summary

Psychophysics: sensation stimulation of sense organs, taking energy from the environment, perception selection, organization, and interpretation of sensory input. It"s what we select brain is automatically deciding. Threshold: sensory receptors are turned to a particular form of energy (auditory receptors in the ear) Interacts with surfaces of objects in the environment (reflected or absorbed) Cornea protects the eye; holds in water in eye (aqueous humor) Pupil small dark dot (genetically determined); based on environmental adaptations. Iris expands (to let light in) and contracts (make light hit centre of fovea; don"t want too much light) to regulate amount of light at back of eye. Lens semi circle, refracts or bends light to let hit fovea (centre) If rounded, light won"t hit fovea creating blurriness. Retina disc at back of the eye. Optic nerve bundle of axons (way to brain) Dark adaptation letting eye adapt to darkness.
