Document Summary
Components of the neuron: multiple billion neurons in brain, axons, delta fibres aren"t myelinated carry electrical info. Practice comes easier- because of myelins: dendrites are connected to other neurons to receive information, creating multiple. We use senses to turn it into a perception. When we learn new info, that"s what the other neurons do. Travels down the axon, hits terminal buttons (contains neurotransmitters), then shot to synapse. Types of neurons: sensory neurons- info from world, motor neurons- movement o. Interneurons- from part to brain to another: glia- glue of brain. Graded potentials: membrane opens up membranes/ holes for ions to go in/out, k + na = increases energy; if there is enough, depolarization, neuron= tiny battery in the brain that contains energy. If we get enough, it fires out and gets potential. ) Once enough energy is there of 40, it releases impulse and it opens up and neuron goes back to resting potential.
