It is possible to have hypomania on its own. Important in order to get the proper treatment: chronic, psychotic. Means that it has been occurring for long periods of time, more than 2 years. Prevent any type of psychosis because it will be more likely to happen if it has happened once already. More common: melancholic of suicide in cultures without faith, catatonic reaction. phototherapy- exposed to a special light to get enough vitamin d, postpartum onset, seasonal pattern, rapid cycling pattern.
