Document Summary

Pi of the self knowledge and interpersonal perception lab. Early age - we start making attributions about other people. Almost instantly - we"ve evolved to be social so we want to know right away if we can get along with someone. Befriend - or not, hire or not, important decisions we make. If something walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and swims like a duck, chances are it is a duck. Informant or reputation/ people who know them really well. What someone is really live -> cues -> your judgement. The cues that you see have to be relevant to the trait you want to judge. We need a situation to let out a trait-specific behavior. If something is happening internally it is not available to you. Frequency idea: some ques happen but not very often. You need to see it and utilize it correctly. Cue validation - which cues are actually related to what we are forming.
