C
-cross temporal vs cross sitautional… look them up
-thinks he’s a personality psych but almost killed personality psych in his book that criticizes trait theory
(trait theory: people have a trait that makes them acting in some way consistently)
-look at personality over time responses. Not just one response once. If there is a trait/persoanlity then
it should have a strong correlation from one day to another day
-Aggregates is when u average several obserbation
-aggregated (randomly selected) times showed correlation
-using factor analysis gives a totally different view of that given by mischel which undermined traits (in
the previous slide)
How did they feel alone or when they were with other AND when they were working or just relaxing
If u have a negative affect when ur social, then there is high a correlation that u have a negative affect
when ur sad.
More evidence for trait theory. Showing consistency
