The current zeitgeists is that it is biological and it is cause from brain malfunction: the profession that treats this is psychiatrist, psychologist. Believe is it caused other than biological reasons and it can be treated by something other than biology. Biology and environment do seem to interact with each other to cause a change in behaviour: you need biological predisposition & environmental change. Abnormal behaviour is dysfunction: brain dysfunction, or a chemical imbalance . But we aren"t good at adjusting the chemistry in the brain. Biological: if you have an abnormal behaviour you will likely see a psychiatrist who will, the medication doesn"t always work prescribe medication. Genetics, neurochemistry and the nervous system are all related to each other. Adjusting the chemistry doesn"t always work: because there seems to be an increacion with the environment, the role of the nervous system, the role chemistry, genetics and behaviour.
