Esp- most people think it does not exist. Guess which curtain- on right or left- if no such thing as psychic powers then it should be 50-50 shot, but actually people can guess above chance using many different paradigms. Most of the people in the field were extremely surprised. That was the idea back in the day but nowadays it is the correct order that is used or should be used. It makes it sound like you have more support for hypothesis than actual- so it is exaggerated. Self regulation- like ego depletion effect- they only mention the results that worked out. Running subjects until p value is under 0. 05- this is bad because you can find result not real- you should set sample size ahead of time. These questionable research practices are actually quite prevalent and been happening for years: leading to replication crisis.
