The child is psycho"l father to the man : talking about one person and that the kid is the precursor to what he is going to dev"l into an adult. If diiculty in oral, person as an adult will be ixated on oral stage with adult consequences associated with ixaion on the mouth. Can work backwards to reconstruct childhood experiences or work forward to predict future adult psychopathology. Early events not a clear indicator of adult personality. But in broader situaions, there is that link.
