On days that people reported having sex for showing love/intimacy for their partner; more positive emotions and relationship satisfaction. On days when sex was happening in order to avoid conflict and avoiding losing partner; more negative emotions were felt and lesser relationship satisfaction. Self-report measures: involve measuring fixed or open-ended questions.
