Communication is one of the most complicated and vital processes we undertake, yet we seldom think about unless there is a problem. Interchange of ideas, opinions, or facts between people (between senders and receivers: there is a sender and receiver and sometimes these roles change during the conversation. Communication is an extremely important tool: many different types of communication. Some components of communication involve language but not speech: body language, noises, written word, pictures. Speech is one means of expressing language but not the only one. Before, the only way people could communication was speech (before people were readily learning to read and write) Language represents the message that is contained in speech: language is the content, speech is one of many modalities in order to communication language with one another, communication language speech. In humans, the development of communication, language, and speech overlap to some degree.
