Even psychoanalysis is the same: for individuals that cannot process, the best thing is behavioral therapy- it is not a talking therapy, it is direct and based on behavior and the consequences of that behavior. Behavioral therapy is appropriate for all sorts of individuals that cannot talk, including animals. For individuals with stroke (not a traumatic brain injury but an acquired one), and it occurred within a year, walking and communicating can only be restored to 90% as they were before.
