Ex: a child saying momma at 2 rather than the age of 1: language disorders tend to be more severe because they sequence of language acquisition is interrupted. Ex: the child is exposed to language, but the child is not speaking. Maybe later on (like past critical development) they learn to speak: classification, receptive language disorders. Any disorder of language that involves difficulty in comprehension (whether it is based upon speech, reading, or any other input modality): expressive language disorders. There is difficultly formulating and using language. We are not just talking about speaking; there may be difficulty in coming up with the right words to use to express and idea: aphasia. Basically is the impairment of language in communication, formulation, it can be a receptive language disorder, expressive language disorder, or both.
