Apocrine sweat glands: release hormones into the environment & vapourize odours. Under arms, areolas ,ear canals, pubic hair. Tanner"s stages of development: characterizes the development of the breast, pubic hair, and penis. Visual trigger in addition to distributing odours. Hair growth seens as a sign of sexual maturity. Younger women more likely to remove it completely. Prevalence rate of stis seems to be related to the removal of pubic hair. Vulva: a woman"s entire external sexual anatomy. Mons veneris: fatty tissue cover with skin and pubic hair. Labia majora: outer lips of the vulva. Two folds that surround the external female genitalia. Inner fold is hairless and has oil glands to aid lubrication during sexual arousal. Extends from the mons veneris to the perineum. Labia minora: inner lips of the vulva.
