Document Summary

It"s a view that all religion are only about the operation of power, this is associated with the analysis of karl marx. This analysis highlights the importance of social division and that the 2 main classes of society (the working and ruling classes) are in conflict cuz of political and economic control of the former by the latter. Marx"s analysis also recommended a prescription for change in the communist. Manifesto he called on the working classes to take back control of the means of production, and so to remedy the political imbalance. Marx argued that philosophers have only interpreted the world: the point, however, is to change it". Marx"s approach to the analysis of class and political differences makes a significant contribution to discussions of religion and culture, not only in what he says, but also in how he has influenced later thinkers. Marx saw religion as having a particular role within the processes of oppression and exploitation.
