Document Summary
We have the word predictions and theories can be predictions, make guesses, everybody makes theories and predictions and guesses. We"re looking at facts, relationships, it"s a way in which we see the world. Testable assertions, they"re not guesses, not hunches, every good contemporary theory has to be testable. If you"re statement that has conditions that can be disproven but hasn"t been disproven then it"s a strong theory. Theory has to be logical and make sense of the fact. If it doesn"t fit the evidence then its not a good theory. A child growing up is going to develop its characteristics in the environment he or she grew up in. Socialization which we assume to be positive then you have environment which seems to be negative. Low self control behavior doesn"t explain all criminal behaviour. Unit theories we will encounter the most, it"s a particular problem and you make testable assertions about it.
