Developing our sense of self through interaction: this is crucial to development of personality. Research on interactions with babies: people will behave differently whether the baby is wearing pink or blue. Toys r us: a boy who picked a doll as his toy, his dad quickly put it back. The boy might have learnt that it is inappropriate for him to play with dolls. Dolls might be a way to teach the children who has the role of nurturing. Feral children: a child who has been neglected, not being able to socialize in society, isolated. Symbolic interactionism: talks about interactions, which is a micro level. Freud"s tages of development: freud started the theory that it is the social interaction that develops our sense of self.
