Culture the sum of practices, languages, symbols, beliefs, ideologies, and material objects that people create to deal with real-life problems. High culture: culture consumed mainly by upper classes, ex. operas, ballet, art. Popular culture culture consumed by all classes. Abstraction human capacity to create general ideas that aren"t linked to particular instances. We learn that we can sit on objects through repeated actions, and communication. We learn the word chair" is linked to a physical object that can be sat on. Cooperation: the human ability to create a complex social lie by sharing resources and working together.
