Powerful groups use social structures to maintain power. Latent functions eg. education, we need people to populate the lesser groups of society. Aristotle having a strong middle class provides social stability . Marx he thought capitalism, and the distinction between borgousie and proletarian would be erased, and communism would take over. He said our social interactions with each other take place in a series of performances. It"s as if we live our lives on stage. Life is a series of dramatical instances similar to being on theatre. We take on roles and each role has a whole series of expectations and values. When people are out in public, we are on the front stage. Back stage where we are by ourselves and comfortable. Start from the position and role and experiences from women . Want to describe the role from the vantage point of females. Patriarchy is the governance of the world by men.
