As wifes age increases, the husband does more of the house work. As wifes earnings increase, the husband does more house work. Families with traditional cultures believe that women do more of the household work. Therefore, as families have more children, the husband does les of the house work. If we go back to 1900: 16% female participation rates, it has nearly quadrupled. Oecd data by country for 2013: sorted by male participation rates. Pattern: the countries that are closer together seem to have things in common which seems to affect how and where women work: sorted by difference in male-female participation rates. 47. 8: industrialization: more work opportunities for women, which leads to more women actually working. Female participation rates increase: culture: some cultures are less likely to approve women working; some cultures expect women to work in the home and take care of the children.
