Living in a rich community vs. poor community gives different experience to people. If over 20% of households have income below poverty line, considered high-poverty neighborhood. Income-based poverty or inequality measures have some limitations: need to look at the social reproduction of urban inequality and the passing of privileges from the elites to their children . Wealth inequalities are greater than income inequalities (canada is a good example) Inequalities of access to resources, opportunities and life chances is important. Inequality is unfair even working hard, one may not escape inequality/poverty. Income inequality leads to lower life expectancy and vice versa.
