Pay equity act in 1987 tried to address this. 2nd example of gender inequality: political representation: women and the house of commons, the women percentage in the house of commons is around 20-25%. The percentage has still not risen up to 50%: politics historically has been dominated my male initially, there is also a confidence difference between women and men. Men"s self-assessment is higher than how they actually do. Women on the other hand have lower confidence.
