Insight: an organization is a system of interdependent activities. Organization must adapt to their environments in various ways. Looking at how the larger context is going to shape organizational behaviour. Organization are congeries of interdependent flows and activities linking shifting coalitions of participants embedded in wider material-resource (different groups will provide or take away resources clients, government people who pass the law) and institutional environments. Open systems are looking at the relationship organization and an environment, can be between multiple organizations, or how organizations are responding or shaped by environments. Looking at how organizations adapt to the environment.
