This was viewed as very in uential at the time but considering it was implemented in 1938, ww2 started right after this and put the issues of this commission on the back burner for a long time. Fauteux committee (1956): prior prison issues still existed and prison riots seemed to rise. Individuals who violated the law was seen as someone who was damaged throughout their life and required treatment. This model was considered the medical model as it acknowledged criminal individual issues and recommended vocational training for such damaged individuals.
