`Prefer maximum facilities, highly organize structure, time for that social interaction to
developed, cannot do it in a transactional centre when there have a high population
Conditional release
-Parole Board of Canada (PBC) discretion
`Full parole, report regularly, eligible 1/3 or 7 years, first degree murder, you can only apply for
parole after serving for 25 years, second degree murder, you can only apply for 10-25 years,
decided by the court
`Day parole, way to get you used to full parole, you are eligible before full parole, you spend a
day in a community events, it is helping you to transit to day parole
Temporary Absences
-Shared responsibility CSC and PBC, more driven by the CSC
-Medical, community service, family, parental, personal development, compassion, it is only or
special times, if only the prisoner is not at risk
-Escorted, often escorted, with guards, sometimes you will be with other inmates
-Unescorted, no one classified as maximum risk
-Work release, you find a job in the community, so you will out to work
Statutory release
-Final 1/3 of sentence in community
`under supervision
`similar to full parole
`lifers not eligible, or people who are in for 25 years will not given a chance for statutory release
