Defining what we mean: the police (who?) Plural policing: no one truly represents the police or policing, mixed logic, rationales, strategies. Policing can be done by professional or people of the state. Can be done by state agencies that have primary purposes for example transit, liquor licenses. All kinds of processional that work with others. Policing being done by bodies that have no status, power, or equipment- neighborhood watch, guardian angels, some citizen groups that work independlty. Policing can be done via technology, it can be executed by cameras or listening devices. Options: which of these is the newest way of problem solving: deal with it yourself or with personal networks, rely on private police or security, call the public police. It is all about the plural model of policing. Either the household or the king would target people who left the household.
