People who didn"t have initial exposure to powerful person were more likely to exit the firm and earn less. Exposure to initial supervisor lets you build that track record early on. When they do enroll in program, they already have a good reputation. The timing of these programs really matter. Professional role confidence and gendered persistence in engineering. Family plans people say that because women expect to have a family, they will abandon a profession to find a more family-oriented profession. Self-assessment people argue that women don"t do well in math and they wont persist in a math based curriculum, and even if they"re good at math, they believe they"re bad.
