Interaction effects happen two ways: when a third variable can change or moderate the relationship between two other variables. Or: two variables combine to affect a third, the total effect is not the sum of the separate effects of the two causes. Interpretation: the size of the room can influence how strong the relationship between dominance behaviour and sex.
