She asserts that both cullwick and munby engaged in s/m even before it had entered discourse. She argued that both their diaries reveal, though differently a variety of of fetish rituals: slave/master s/m, bondage/discipline, hand, foot and boot fetishisms, washing rituals, infantilism, cross-dressing and a fascination with dirt.
