In response to this theory, tambiah offers that; certain kinds of rituals produce the cosmos. Emphasizes how we need to think ethnographically: how ritual comes to stand out, language does not stand out from practice but is an ability to reflect our practices and express it. Judge = authority: senator = giving oath, ceremonial, notion that this is done time and time again, the people represent the american nation, chief justice, sacred location.
