(prof) Malawi area was poor and far from urban centres; all cash crop farmers; poor migrants come for job without social support probably influences knowledge on when to take child to hospital etc. Health care workers were more educated; poor farmers espec. migrant workers were syst. denied treatment. A lot of hiv research works in urban areas; wanted to go to a rural area. Art clinic, right outside is a market but prevalence is so high that stigma isn"t such a big issue anymore.
