blackbody
absorbs all incident radiation
models stars/planets (use a blackbody to model stars/planets)
shifts to a lower frequency and a higher wavelength
Wien's Displacement Law, λ peak = b/T
λ peak is usually in nm (depends on the constant, b)
b is a constant related to the body (will often be given in a question)
T is usually in K
ex. λ peak = 0.29nm*k/5000k = x
increase in temperature results in a smaller peak
high frequency results in less wavelengths
