Document Summary

Change of allele frequency of a population through time. Genetic changes of a population through time. Macroevolution :the evolution between species revolutionary forces. Evolution only happens to a population not individuals. Discovered by accident and won fleming the nobel prize. First antibiotic drug based on a naturally occurring substance environment. Due to the use of penicillin bacteria (staphylococcus) have started to evolve and become more and more resistant to antibiotics. Evolution: microevolution, heritable genetic variation in a population of the same species in the same space in time, under strong natural selection (ex. antibiotics, macroevolution. Characteristics with a wide range of variation. Phenotypic expression of genes due to : might have: nature, nurture. Keep genetics constant and change the environment (ex. mendel"s breeding experiments) Therefore the expression of phenotypes it"s not only up to our genes. The problem with mendel"s experiment : variation in colour is due to nurture not nature therefore it"s not due to genetic variation.
