While being propelled, it is also churned/fragmented (process called segmentaion). The serosa (visceral peritoneum) is coninuous w/ parietal peritoneum. Intraperitoneal organs: inside peritoneal cavity, surrounded by visceral peritoneum. Retroperitoneal: only covered by visceral peritoneum on the front (anterior side).
