Document Summary

Ecology lecture 7 population: distribution and abundance. Sun provides energy to the earth and warmth. The sun enters the earth at an angle at the pole and this is why there are areas where it"s always cold and warm areas. This results in different climate on different part of the earth its organism that adapt to that climate. Raccoons were introduced to some places such as europe and japan. Knowing where the species are most abundant in and where they thrive is important in knowing how many there are of them. The zebra mussel invaded a lot of ground by spreading after being introduced to one place. The factors that limit the abundance and interaction of a population is abiotic, biotic, evolutionary history, geologic history, and human influences. How the environment suits an organism depends on the interaction between abiotic and biotic factor.
