G erm theory of disease vs: infections caused by miasmas, humoral theory, infections caused by air in contact with tissue, leeuwenhoek found animalcules in healthy people, many diseases by few types of animalcules. > there was no theory behind the cost of disease. they would just cut the piece where the disease would occur. The germ theory of disease came after the development of microbiology. and it was a very important turn in the history of medicine and biology in general. >disease are coming from germs, miasmas (vapour coming from swans, dirty water or decomposing crops) >no scientific knowledge behind humoral theory: when you are healthy, you have more of the black fluid than the red fluid the n you are sick. >you can also have infections after a wound. your tissue will be exposed to oxygen, so this might be enough to cause the dise ase microbes were also present in healthy people.
