Primary are organs that serve only an endocrine function. Secondary are organs that have endocrine function but also have other functions. For example heart does produce hormone, but that"s not sole purpose/function of heart. Anp hormone when secreted by heart facilitates urinary lose of sodium from bodily fluids. Heart is well able to determine blood volume of body. As sodium lost, blood volume reduces, atrial wall stretch reduces. Acting as monitor for total blood volume (heart).
