Conservation biologists, however, would aim to understand why those species are going extinct on those islands to enhance or conserve them. Like medical research, conservation biology deals with issues where quick action is critical and the consequences of failure are great: species go extinct and never come back. Conservation biology as a discipline aims to provide answers to specific questions that can be applied to management decisions: this field of biology is on the periphery of many other fields. Designing nature reserves: by conserving the habitat of one, you conserve the habitat of many. Reconciling conservation concerns with the needs of local people: the needs in an urban context, the needs of traditional land users where conservation is being prepped, grizzly bear hunting is banned north of canada. However, indigenous people are still allowed to harvest grizzly bears for food, medicinal properties, and other cultural requirements: the needs of local people have a lot of variability entwined within.
