Rare, specialized species usually have first priority: what is the habitat like, the people. What do the farmers and people around there think of as threats : the history. Jaguar species has a large range umbrella species. Figure out the stressors: being killed by humans, poaching, fragmented habitats, loss of genetic diversity, light pollution since they are nocturnal, diseases from dogs. And put up cameras to see who walks across and who walks across once and never again. Note: every disease has a threshold in which if the population is too low, it cant spread.
