Individuals had to maintain ma at in order to enter afterlife. King osiris killed by seth his brother buried his wife isis also his sister spend her life finding him, hides his coffin and he is spread out across the land. Explains the rise of the god of dead, archetype for every egyptian. Story is bad for osiris bad luck to write it down. Stress ore good news of resurrection not death and betrayal. Seth drowns him in some , mauls him others. Maybey died twice . worst fate for egytpian. Second death is being resurrected and killed again. Osiris is a mummy signifying death and underworld. Has green or black skin, signified fertility and regeneration. Iris is right hand to pharaoh, throne on head.
