In antiquity, there were two poems about the trojan war: the iliad and the odyssey by homer. Yet there were other poems that talked about aspects of the trojan war, such as the cypria, They are a part of the cycle that relates to the trojan war - they are separate from homer (a. Little iliad, nostoi , etc. little later) but are still telling a story about the same event. The cypria tells the story of how the trojan war started. Aphrodite is associated with the greek island of cyprus; the cypria features aphrodite. These poems of antiquity are not preserved in all of their verses - the copies we have are summaries written by other historians during the ancient times. Helen is also a daughter of zeus - she is his tool in which the whole war is set into motion.
