Tale of sinuhe-middle kingdom: basic premise: a courtier named sinuhe flees egypt and lives most of his life in the levant, upon getting old, his heart aches for egypt and he realizes there is no place like home. He hides in bushes during day and travels at night to avoid the guards. Travels to peten and the island of kem kar. Travels to byblos and on to qedem where he spends 6 months. The chief of upper retenu, ammunenshi, summons him. He said the king died and he doesn"t know why he fled. Ammenenshi asks how egypt will survive without great ammunenut.
