CSCA08H3 Lecture 1: CSCA08 – Lecture 1 – Course Info
Document Summary
Csca08 is an introduction to computer science using python programming: it is not an introduction to programming using computer science. It is designed for people with no programming experience. For experienced programmers, they should unlearn any bad habits. Course is designed for students with a future in computer science. Csca08 is intended for students looking to take c-level or d-level courses in the future, whereas csca20 is intended for students who only want one or two programming courses. Computer science is a social discipline, so communication and socialization is highly encouraged. Piazza discussion forums should be the first source of communication for any doubts or questions. Lecture slides & code will be posted online. Lecture notes do not contain all info covered in class. Need to learn through the process and not just look at the final result. Tas will be presenting new material and reviewing material from lecture. Info from lectures and tutorials are fair game for the exam.
