Document Summary

Ozone in stratosphere protects life on earth from lethal violations from ultraviolet radiation. Clouds: stratus, strato, layer cloud, low level cloud, cumulus, cumulo, pu y cloud, cirrus, cirro, high level clouds, nimbus, nimbo, rain clouds, alto, middle atmosphere. What is wind: movement of air in an ordered fashion. What causes wind: pressure, either vertical or horizontal pressure, pressure gradient, vertical or horizontal pressure (di erence, air ows high pressure to low pressure, pressure gradient force (net cause of wind) Vertical pressure: dominant in lower half of atmosphere, 1mb per 10 m. Horizontal pressure: dominant in upper half of atmosphere, 1mb per 6000m. Coriolis force: rotation of earth ( ctitious force, in northern hemisphere causes de ection right and opposite in southern, formated by gaspard custave de coriolis in 1835.
