Low socio economic groups most likely to get sick, then children, and people who eat fast food. Prevention starts from supermarket, proper storage, clean kitchen, prepare food properly, keep everything clean, once cooked eat it right away, store leftovers immediately and properly. Botulism caused by the toxins produced by this bacteria. If food doesn"t undergo botulism cook, then risk of toxins. Through soil, spores come onto surface of food. If not destroyed by cooking then stay in there. When stay in the food (since good environment), they will change from dormant state into active and reproduce and produce toxin.
