Poetry is like a song but without music, so the words have to stand on their own. The 4x4 structure: a quatrain (4-line stanza) where each line has 4 beats. Folk songs whose original composer is unknown which were sung long before they were ever written down. Many versions exist because it is not fixed. Lots of dialogue, preferable two people arguing: strong sense of speakers. Sentimental: love and death, often death of a lover or death for love, strong emotion makes it easy to remember.
