Originally, the readers are lead to believe that she is the innocent caring and protagonist women who is a victim of a misogynist world. However, it can be argued, that she is more passive and displays qualities of an antagonist then a protagonist. For i(cid:374)sta(cid:374)(cid:272)e, i(cid:374) the passage, she starts off (cid:271)y sayi(cid:374)g dead is dead, i told (cid:373)yself, stati(cid:374)g that si(cid:374)(cid:272)e they are dead there is no point in moaning there loss. A character of a person being passive of situations where in fact they are in fact guilty and afraid to expose their guilty conscious . Secondly, she says she will offer her prays in secret, because of her fear of being suspected by odyssey. Reading into the line, it is clear that her heart is more sinister, then she led the readers to believe.
