ENGB30H3F Monday Sept 10 Mailbox = late assignments Goals: 1. Understand myths (broadly). Have basic knowledge of the texts. Myths tend to be 'elusive.' There are many references to them, helps form understanding of other works. 2. Purpose of looking at these figures (Prometheus, Pygmalion, Hercules, Ulysses) to look at how each myth has many different layers/parts. Examine the retellings and how they change with every version. Assignments 20% Reading Check = Mid-term (Oct 22) -will be tested on readings and remembering what you read -mc (20-30 questions?) -based on text/other works 40% Term Paper (Nov 19) -approx. 7 pages -topics will be provided -approx. 3 weeks before -if not enough time, approach prof. -Standard MLA format (?)
