Document Summary

Body politics transfers from one to another (immortal) but body natural can die. Relationship & tension b/w parliament and king is arnold"s argument. Arnold"s article talks about a political legal historic tradition what people were saying at the time about the political system called themselves the mouth of the commons. Arnold"s article jack cade swallows the house of politics (the very one henry vi unknowingly abandoned) Asks: how can one person stand in for another: when henry is in parliament he is the body politics. Example: prof is a tyrant in the lec room, he is encompassing everything, he is all of us. No forms of representations what so ever: can have people representing a royal person as well, talks about mimicking others. Are parliament and king two separate things: yes, because when henry vi leaves, jack cade attempts to take over his parliament/ office, no, because parliament can"t make laws without king/ queen consent.
