The Disappearing Male (Video in Lecture 4) Number of males (of all species such as male humans, male frogs and even male fish) decreasing o Chemicals is causing rapid evolution o Can cause dysfunction among the human population Something is wrong with sexual health of human males (e.g. sperm counts quantity have been cut in half over the last 50 yrs and 85% of the sperm is abnormal not good quality. Also testicular cancer has doubled over the last 20 yrs) Man-made chemicals are to be blamed; interfere w male hormonal system and interfering with the sexual development of males Over 90 million synthetic chemicals and most have not been tested on humans Some chemicals are causing profound and permanent damage to human bodies and some of these synthetic chemicals are more damaging to boys but this idea is not being publicized too much (some may actually find it scary) 3 ways
