GGRA03H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 10: Tonne, Sustainable Development, Social Polarization
Document Summary
City space is differentiated by the market: different places have different prices sorting people out into different locations. Accessibility: how close you are to ttc, road. Amenity: a really nice place for you to live. Places with lots of parks, good schools. By wealth: rich by places in richer locations in which the poor cant buy. Race and ethnicity: partly voluntarily and involuntary. By occupation: this was back in the day like there would be streets with all the black smiths. By age: young single people tend to live close to the dt, when people got older and married with kids, they would move out into the suburbs for more space. Sexual preference: around church and wesley. Places with high amenity levels tend to be more expensive: ppl with money will compete to be located in these nice places and thus bid up the price. Most goods are distributed through market processes.
